I asked the locals, what’s your favorite hotel in Puerto Jimenez, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
Everyone agreed that they love Cabinas Jimenez in Puerto Jimenez, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
Cabinas Jimenez Hotel.
Cabinas Jimenez hotel is a go-to hotel when the locals have to spend a night or two in Puerto Jimenez. Sometimes the locals just want to get away from their daily routine, and they always choose Cabinas Jimenez. Why, you ask?
There are a lot of answers. It is the only waterfront hotel in Puerto Jimenez. Cabinas right on the water, wake up having your coffee on the deck, and watch the sunrise. you might see the humpback whales and dolphins right in front of the hotel Kitchenets in some of the cabinas. Listen to the howler monkeys wake up their world. The Beach almond trees on the property has Scalet Macaws eating the almonds.

Location
Cabinas Jimemenz is only 50 meters from the start of Puerto Jimenez. It is a flat walk into town, no hills to climb. The hotel also has free bicycles and kayaks for your use. After a stroll through town, taking a kayak out onto the Golfo Dulce, or sweet gulf. The sweet gulf is flat calm. You can go into the mangroves at high tide.

Free storage for your luggage
You can store your luggage at the hotel when you go to Corcovado Park, for a day or an overnight stay. Which makes Cabinas Jimenez a great home base while you explore the Osa Peninsula.
Accommodations

Accommodations at Cabinas Jiménez range from a simple room to a cabina right on the water. The rooms around the pool are very nice with a nice deck. They have curtains that you can close on the deck for privacy. All the rooms have air conditioning and hot water showers. Throughout the hotel, there is high-speed internet.
All the beds are comfortable, the kind of beds that you do not want to get out of. And most are king-size. There are safes in some rooms. In 2023 John, the owner, bought all new appliances. They are always updating the linens.
Saltwater pool.

A saltwater pool. Saltwater is easier to maintain. I have spent many hours being lazy and just enjoying the Now, at the pool. Also, I have stayed at Cabinas Jimenez on more than one occasion. My favorite cabina is all the way to the right, at the very end of the hotel.
Outdoor barbecue and yoga platform

At first, the outdoor deck was built for yoga, which you still can do; later, a barbecue was added along with some tables and chairs. For several years we had a friendship dinner there.

John, the owner, let us have our friendship dinner on the outside deck. It was all of us who call the Osa Peninsula our home. Maybe this year I will do it again. You can see why the locals love Cabinas Jimenez hotel and why you will too.
Front Desk is always happy to see you.
Everyone at the front desk speaks English. They want to make your visit one with wonderful memories. They can help you with all the tours and also show you some great spots around town to explore. I have friends come down to visit me from Alaska, and they always stay at Cabinas Jimenez, in the favorite room.
The real reason the locals love Cabinas Jimenez ,and you will too. John the owner.
John bought the hotel in 2003. At the time, it had a few cabinas, and that is about it. Over the next 23 years, John added more cabinas a swimming pool an outdoor deck. John has a lot of people working on his team. He cares for all of them, and they have been there for years. What you do not see is John helping out the local people of Puerto Jimenez. He is always giving out free food or money to everyone in the community. I had a buddy come down, and I hooked him up with John. They both love to sport fish.
When my buddy got back to my place, he told me something about John I already knew. He helped so many people in the morning before we went fishing. I smiled, yep, that’s John. John works behind the scenes when he helps the community. He never asked for recognition.
Getting to Cabinas Jimenez.
To get to Cabinas Jimenez, when you are coming into town, before you take a right by the soccer field. There will be a dirt road to the left. If you look, you can see Cabinas Jimenez 50 meters down the road. Any taxi will know how to get to Cabinas Jimenez.

Whale watching with John.
John has his own whale watching boat and will be more than happy to take you on a tour.

Enjoy your stay on the Osa Peninsula and at Cabinas Jimenez. Remember to only take photos, leave only footprints.
