Soda El Colectivo is located on the first road to the right coming into Puerto Jimenez. It’s on the right-hand side of the street, past the Pali, the bus station, and a small wood shop. Before you get to the Grupo Materiales hardware store, you will see Soda El Colectivo on the corner.

Here you’ll find the cheapest burgers in town! A pretty good burger with all the toppings and fries will set you back only $6.00 US. I have eaten at Soda El Colectivo several times. Their breakfast menu is very good: Gallo pinto with two fried eggs, tortillas, and a coffee for under $6.00. It is a small soda with 4 tables; as the name implies, next door is where you catch the colectivo to Carete and Corcavado Park. Not a lot of money or on a budget. This is the soda to go to. I have a retirement pension, and at the end of the month, I go and get a cheeseburger and fries. The owner is very nice and always says good day, in Spanish Buenos Dia
