The Higuerones Saturday Market Recycling & Education Project.. On any given Saturday morning, Puerto Jiménez comes alive with the sights and sounds of the local market—vibrant displays of organic produce, fresh coconut water, and artisanal crafts. But amidst the lively community bustle, a quiet revolution in sustainability is taking place. Beyond supplying fresh food, the Osa Saturday Market has become a frontline hub for environmental education and community action.

Sorting out your recyclables will make the volunteers’ job much easier. Sort your plastic, tin, glass in cluding cardboar. Please make sure that you wash everything with fresh water first.
What can we do

All of us can carry an empty bag to fill up when we are exploring one of the most biologically diverse places on Earth. I have lived on the Osa Peninsula for 15 years. Every time I go to my favorite beach, I clean it up. ALWAYS LEAVE IT CLEANER THAN YOU FOUND IT.
If you are doing a drop-off of your recyclables at the Higuerones Saturday Market Recycling & Education Project. Make sure to check out all the local produce and arts. The restaurants have true Costa Rican food.

All of us who call the Osa Peninsula home want your visit to be wonderful. The Saturday market is a great place to meet locals in their true element. Stay for a while, have something to eat, and enjoy a cup of Costa Rican coffee. Talk to the volunteers about helping our community with different projects. It is a real experience that gives you an inside look at our family.
