Costa Rica loves their football. Every Sunday in most of the Barrios there will be a football game going on. It is a family event , the whole family antends to cheer on their team. Some Barrios have a concession stand that cooks everyone’s favorite foods. If Costa Rica national team is playing , the goverment will close down all govement jobs for duration of the game .
Basically the whole country will watch the game. Even where Ilive in my bario ,U can hear people cheering on the national soccer team they are watching on their TV.
The first time I heard Costa Rican get excited about their football , I was in a bar having a beer. I noticed everyone was watching football on the TV. All of a sudden the whole bar explode with enthusiasm. I was a little surprised at first . Now i know that they love thier football .
The Costa Rica goverment gives each Barrio money for parks, which turn into football fields. along with the football fields the goverment also provides a community building.
The cummunity building is used for events ,Christmass and a lot of soical events.
When you hear everyone yelling , which will be everywhere you are in the mix of a football game. Es Pura Vida
