Most of the lodges are remote. Some will be surrounded by the tropical rainforest, while others are close to the beach. Many lodges of the Osa will include meals. The ones that do not usually have a kitchen for guests’ use. Most lodges offer activities and amenities, such as hiking tours and yoga platforms.

There are a lot of lodges on the Osa Peninsula. Most lodges do not have websites, but use third-party host programs to book clients. I will be adding more lodges of the Osa Peninsula as an ongoing process, and hopefully I can make websites for them. I will have photos of some of the lodges soon. Most lodges are all-inclusive. You will be surrounded and embraced by stunning tropical flora and fauna.
**What to Expect: The Osa Eco-Lodge Experience**
1. True Jungle Immersion
Staying in an Osa eco-lodge is not like a standard hotel; it is a sensory experience. Expect to wake up at 5:00 AM to the powerful roar of Howler Monkeys—the jungle’s natural alarm clock. Because many lodges use “open-air” architectural designs to catch the ocean breeze, you are never truly separated from nature. You’ll likely see Scarlet Macaws, Toucans, and Morpho butterflies right from your balcony.
2. Sustainable Living & Unplugging
Most lodges in this region operate off-grid. This means:
2. Sustainable Living & Unplugging
Most lodges in this region operate off-grid. This means:
Solar Power: Electricity is often limited. You can charge your devices, but high-wattage items like hair dryers are usually not allowed.
Limited Wi-Fi: Many lodges offer Wi-Fi only in common areas (like the restaurant) to encourage guests to “unplug” and connect with the rainforest.
Natural Cooling: Instead of AC, lodges use high ceilings, powerful ceiling fans, and the natural “jungle air conditioning” provided by the surrounding canopy.
3. The All-Inclusive Lifestyle
Because many of these stays are remote (accessible only by 4×4 or boat), most are all-inclusive. You can expect high-quality, farm-to-table meals often featuring local tropical fruits, fresh-caught fish from the Golfo Dulce, and organic vegetables grown on-site.
4. Adventure at Your Doorstep
You don’t have to go far for adventure. Most lodges have their own private trail systems, yoga platforms overlooking the trees, and expert on-site guides who can help you spot sloths or coatis before breakfast.
