There are over 20 hotels and 2 hostels in Puerto Jimenez. Price ranging from $20.00 to $300.00 a night. For 2026, a few more hotels have been built. I will be doing a review of every hotel in the next 2 months, starting on the 3rd of September 2026
Choosing a Hotel
Choosing a hotel will depend on what your needs are. If you just want a clean bed and a shower, prices will be lower than a hotel that has a swimming pool. With all the demand for visiting the Osa Peninsula, there are a lot more Hotels. That being said, there are more beds than visitors. I recommend booking a hotel for the first night. Get caught up on jet lag and rest. The following morning you can explore better options.
Remember to ask for discounts. Most hotels will give you a discount. A lot of hotels do not have websites, but use Facebook and WhatsApp to advertise, along with third-party sites. Tip. Install WhatsApp on your phone before coming to the Osa Peninsula. Change your Facebook location to Puerto Jiménez, so you can look up hotels.
Most small hotels will have comfortable beds, though the rooms will be small and expect cold showers. But If a hotel is just a place for you to sleep, then a locally owned hotel will make your vacation money last longer. The owners are always nice and friendly. All hotels will help you with booking tours, plus you will make a new friend. Enjoy the Osa Peninsula, a place we all call home.
Important !! when clicking on the websites. Right click, open in a new Window, look at their website, and contact them on their website. If you do not like what you’re seeing, close the website window, and you will still have Osa App in another window.

Hotel Jimenez

Hotel Jimenez is actually a house with a private pool. They have 3 bedrooms that they rent out upstairs. The Hotel is located in town, on a side street.
To get there, as you walk into town from the soccer field, stay on the right-hand side of the street.
You will walk past the police station, then the bakery, and the bakery will be a family store called Family Mart. Right past the Family Mart will be the courthouse. At the courthouse, take a right and go 50 meters, and you will see Hotel Jimenez.
Kitty Conner from the hotel is Johanas Soda. The Soda has a big almond tree in front, so there is lots of shade. The food is excellent, and the prices are not bad. Ask for the casadas, lunch specials. They are usually under $10.00, and there will be a lot of food. The owners are super nice!
Cabina Jimenez

These cabins are located in town on the left-hand side of the main street going into Puerto Jimenez. As you start walking from the soccer field on the left-hand side, you will pass a school, and then there will be some little shops. Keep going past the first intersection. At the next intersection, if you stop and look to the street going to the left, you will see the Cabinas.
I have never stayed there, so I can not tell you anything about them, except that they will be in the budget for backpackers. Do not expect much, including not having towels or soap in the bathroom, plus cold showers. They are located right downtown so as far as food, family stores, and restaurants, everything is right there.
Cabinas Marcelina

Cabanas Marcelina is in town on the left-hand side of the street. It is also a house and has cabins. I have never stayed there. Every time I walk by, the yard has lots of flowers, and they have ducks and chickens running around. It looks interesting. The price will be in the budget range once again, except for cold showers
Abol De Vida https://www.arboldevidacorcovado.com/

Abol De vida is a new hotel Well its been here for a couple of years,so new to me. It is 2 stories. and they promote yoga, and a vegetarian restaurant This hotel is on the right hand side going into to town on ther main street. As your walking from the soccer field on the right hand side,go 2 blocks and you will see it down a side street to the right. The price range will be above the budget prices hotels, One thing Is they have put in a lot of time into building their hotel, from the outside it looks very welcoming.
Carolina Hotel

Carolina is in the city center on Main Street. They have rooms with air conditioning, a small room, but the price makes up for the coziness. Their restaurant opens up mid-afternoon, used to open for breakfast, but that changed. Italian and local seafood food is on the menu. Prices range from $12.00 up to $35.00. Great food!
Cabinas the Coner

Cabinas on the corner. This hotel is located on the first street to the right coming into Puerto Jimenez. You will go past Pali, Walmart on the right-hand side. Across the street will be ICE, Ice is the electrical company. Right pass Pali, you will pass INS, then there will be an alley. If you go down the alley for 10 meters, you will be at the bus station for buses going to San Jose. Then the next building is right past the alley, the bus station is in the new municipality, keep going another 20 meters, and you will see Cabinas on the corner. They have rooms with air conditioning, in the mid-price range.
Cabinas los Palmas
Cabinas Los Palmas is on the beach road behind the soccer fields. Their rooms are small but have air-conditioning. The cabins are right across the street to the sweet gulf. The rooms are only $40.00 a night.

Hotel hoja de Oro

Hotel https://www.hotelhojadeoro.com/. is a fairly new hotel in the center of town. The rooms are small but clean, with air conditioning. I have stayed there several times. They have a kitchen you can use, plus they have a dorm that will be on the cheaper side
Escape to the Tropics

Escape to the Tropics has rooms, a hostel, and houses that you can rent. It is the only registered inner-city park in Costa Rica. It is in the mangroves by the airport. You will be amazed by all the wildlife. Chosa Manglar Nature Retreat has been recognized as the world’s first Tropical Urban Park (TUP). A TUP is a natural area inside a tropical town where biodiversity, community life, and local business coexist. https://escapetothetropics.com/
Back packers cabinas

Backpackers cabinas is a small hotel in the center of town. It has 2 kitchens you can use. The rooms are small, but clean. They have rooms with air conditioning for only $15.00 mil; rooms with only fans are $10.00 mil. What I like about the hotel is that at night they close the gate and lock it. You can leave your luggage if you are doing tours.
The cabinas are located on the first road in Puerto Jimenez. On the same road as the bus station. from the bus staion walk towards town. When you see Colectivo Soda and Grupo Materials across the street, take a left, go down 20 meters, and you will see their sign.
