Costa Rica coffee is some of the best coffee in the world. I wake up at 4 am every day. My dog Alaska greets us with our morning rituals. A pat on the head, a good morning. She waits by the door. I get up and let her out.
The first thing is making coffee. I put my pot of water on the stove and turn the stove on. Then I take out my chorreador and rinse off the cloth bag called a bolsita, rinse ot off. I place the bolista in the Chorreador.
I decide that I want a strong cup of coffee, and I put in more than enough coffee in the bolsita for a strong cup.
The water in the pot starts to boil, I pour the water through the Boista, and I am rewarded by the smell of coffee. Not just any coffee, but the rich dark roast of Costa Rica coffee.
I take a sip, my mind and taste buds come alive.
The chorreada has been used for over 200 years in Costa Rica.
As I sip my coffee, I can hear the howler monkeys greeting yet another day. Towards the east, I see daylight winning over the darkness, and then there is color in the sky. Alaska knows to give me time; she lies down next to me.
The simple life of living in Costa Rica, I know it will be a Pura Vida day
